Canadian Food for Children Co-Workers, B. C. Division

WHO WE ARE

  1. We are a group of volunteers who care deeply about the suffering poor of the world. Our non-denominational, registered charity operates under the Society's Act and under the guidelines of Revenue Canada. As such, we issue tax receipts for cash donations and "gifts in kind" tax receipts for donated materials.
  2. Our mandate is to raise funds, purchase food, and gather goods for the hungry in developing countries.
  3. Everyone in our organization is a volunteer. No one in our organization is paid for their work.
  4. One hundred percent of an individual's donation is used to buy food and to pay for shipping costs.

    • Whenever we ship from Vancouver to a developing country or send cash donations, we have a personal, known contact who receives the shipment or cash and confirms delivery in writing and with pictures.
    • When we collaborate with Universal Aid Society and the Gleaners, direct contact is with charities similar to ourselves who confirm needs and receipt of goods via email and occasionally with pictures.
    • Whenever our containers go to the consolidated warehouse in Toronto and on to developing countries, there is a known contact who confirms receipt of the shipment and also sends pictures.
